The Great Seljuk Empire (Persian: آل سلجوق, romanized: āl-e Saljuq, lit. 'House of Saljuq') or the Seljuk Empire was a high medieval Turko-Persian Sunni Muslim empire, starting from the Qiniq branch of Oghuz Turks.
